Hi! I absolutely love Leviathantale but, I have one teeny tiny question. How did Dream and Nightmare acquire all the shiver? Was it a "this shark just hasn't stopped following me around" or more of a "that is a very sad boi, he's ours now" sort of situation?
Oh!! Okay so the acquiring went like people catching feral kittens. All of the previous sharks were spicy in their own ways.
Horror was the first to join, and he was half starved, injured, and feral. Usually the Leviathans treated mers like how one would a bug, squish or eat, but it was different this time. Nightmare was injured, recovering within the depths with Dream hovering over him. Nightmare saw himself in Horror and spared him. The rest is history :’) Fun fact, Horror is the head shark of the shiver, not Nightmare or Dream. Horror also has the most experience with how healthy shiver dynamics actually went before time passed and shark mers became much more rare.
The order the sharks joined is: Horror, Dust, Killer, and then Cross. They all have their stories, I’ll have to eventually sit down and actually write them lol
Humans are the majority in leviathantale :D Currently there’s an ongoing civil struggle to get Monsterkind better rights. Mers are actually the myths here. They currently aren’t officially recognized as a separate species from Monsterkind, or even sentient.
Since they were never underground, world governments have carefully ignored Merkind outside their uses on the black market. Any sightings have been brushed off as a Monster. There are many poachers out to snatch them up to sell them off to the highest bidder. (Capturing them alive is the goal, since mers turn to sea foam when they die)
There are studies/classes, as well as protestors fighting to get Merkind officially recognized and protected.
Side note: Red and Edge are both Ocean ranger/marine biologists (specializing in the protection of merkind and defending them against poachers) They aren’t personally invested in Mers actually being sentient, but the pay is good and they can kick ass w/o raising their LV. (Totally not because they have a soft spot for people struggling and a hatred for bullies, totally not)
Is there a comic for Levithaintale? I've been really interested in it, but haven't seen any plot line for it. I know most of the characters and what sea creature they are. I would be very grateful if you could put a link up. Thank you! 😁
